Hibachi is a more common name for Teppanyaki which is a type of grill used to prepare Japanese cuisine. At Hibachi Restaurants, a number of diners are seated at each grill with usually at least 8 diners per table. A teppanyaki grill is a large iron griddle that the Hibachi chefs use to cook the food which allows you to watch your food being prepared in an entertaining style. Some common ways Hibachi chefs entertain guests are by cracking a spinning egg, making "volcanos" out of onions(this is very popular with children) and tossing shrimp to guests for them to catch in their mouths.
The cuisine itself consists of Filet Mignon, Chicken, Lobster, Scallops and Shrimp accompanied by vegetables and rice or noodles. Often a soup or salad will be served prior to receiving the main hibachi meal.
If you have never visited a Hibachi Restaurant, it is definitely an experience you do not want to miss. Hibachi is perfect for special occasions including birthdays, anniversaries, family-fun nights, and more.
